What is depression?
Depression is not the same as having a spell of bad mood.
A bad mood is the reaction to events that are happening in life. Bad mood passes fast.
Depression on the other hand, is a serious psychological disorder. In its most simplistic form, depression is the inability to get pleasure from life.
How can you tell if you have depression?
People with depression lose the ability to concentrate. They try to avoid contact with friends and people who are close to them. They also tend to concentarte on the negative aspects of life and suffer from low self-esteem.
Furthermore, depressive people often exhibit physical manifestations as well, such as insomnia, pain in the heart and stomach area and drastic weight loss.
